shooting pains back disc
Severe back pain down leg?

I have severe lower back pain for more than a year. The pain is confined to the legs (pain shooting). MRI report shows Disc Bulging at L4-L5 minimum and reduce disk space at L5-S1. Some pain is also found in the upper back. I'm exercising, but in vain. I feel this pain exetremely impassable and is bringing down my productivity. I'm 22 and can not go for surgery. I have not tried any steroid injection. Should I go for that. Do they have side effects. If anyone could give any suggessions to me again back on track, i will be humiliated and grateful. Please help ….

I am a chiropractor and specialize in injuries related to the spine. disk acts as a cushion and a separator between each vertebrae. if a disc is bulging / herniated, protruding can put pressure on the nerves exiting between each vertebra which causes a "pinched" nerves. Also, if the disk is carried out (getting thinner) you lose the space between the vertebrae, leaving less space for the nerves to exit – and can again pinching a nerve. nerves of the cervical spine (neck) to get to the bottom of his arm, while the nerves of the lumbar (lower) form the sciatic nerve that runs all the way down the leg. If any of these are "pinched" can cause pain, numbness, tingling, weakness wherever these nerves go (Below the arms / legs). As a chiropractor I see this kind of scenario on a daily basis. for those with degenerative disc disease, Herniated Disc, Bulging Disc, etc – usually normal chiropractic care can help with these problems. but there are many people out there that have had this problem for many years and can not find relief with anything they try – including chiropractic. but now there is a treatment that is perfect for your situation and the best part is: is nonsurgical and noninvasive. if you have not heard of it, however, is called spinal decompression. this type of treatment focuses on disc injuries and the problems it causes. I use the DRX9000 spinal decompression system in my office and works great for people with such injuries (about 90% success). DRX9000 approval the FDA and is the best decompression system available (cheap imitations that do not give the same results). My recommendation would be to see a chiro, especially if you have never tried before, only to see what they have to say. also do some research on this treatment and after calling someone (usually a chiro) use it in your office. I just google "DRX9000" to find information about it and doctors in your area that can have. This treament is able to encourage the disc to return to its normal orientation and also rebuild its height – which then takes the pressure to the nerve is compressed. painkillers, cortisone injections, the epidural will do nothing to solve the problem – all they do is cover up and become less and less effective over time. BEST surgery is 50% success and usually does not solve the problem, since most people need another surgery 5-10 years down the road for the same issue. is typically a viscious cycle. Remember, surgery is always an option, so try something before surgery to see if you can avoid it – cause once you do the surgery there is no turning back. This treatment is very effective for degenerative disc disease, bulging disc, hernia, etc and also write sciatica cases, especially if you have not had surgery yet. I have had many patients who were scheduled for surgery, tried this treatment as a last resort and then ended up completely reversing surgery after treatment was completed. what works and what my recommendation would be for you. good luck and I hope this gives an idea to other people experiencing similar problems – there is a solution!
