Is degenerative disc disease as well as discogenic pain?

I was diagnosed with annular tear and mild disc bulb, C5-6, with neck pain discogenic. Degenerative disk disease is the same as discogenic pain? I read in the degenerative disc disease that some of the treatments are with the merger cord. I had an anterior cervical discectomy and fusion and this is one of the most common surgical treatments.

No, they are not the same. discogenic pain can be a symptom of degenerative disc disease, however. discogenic pain means the pain you feel comes from the nerves inside the disc, instead of "pain referred to "pressure on the spinal cord or joints or muscle spasms.
